No CROCS on the Escalator

My sister and I were recently in Chicago shopping at the Water Tower Mall. It was early on a Friday morning and the mall was almost empty. All of a sudden we heard someone shout "security" and "help". It turns out that a little 10-year-old girl had gotten her "CROC" shoe caught on the escalator.

As it turns out, this has happened quite a few times over the last 2 years and today, a mother of a three-year-old girl has filed a class-action lawsuit against the makers of CROCS for an incident which happened at the Atlanta Airport while they were on their way to Disney World.

Luckily, the little girl we saw in Chicago did not physically hurt her foot but she was clearly upset and the paramedics took her to the hospital in an ambulance. Her mother was holding the pink CROCS, one of which was completely torn up on the toe section. If her foot had gotten caught as well, there would have been major injuries.

So, where can you wear these shoes that won't cause a hazard? I only wear mine out in the garden where I can hose them off when I'm done working in the dirt. They clean up quite nicely.
