Tip Tuesday - Freezing Meat & Poultry

Avoid freezer burn by removing meats and poultry from the grocery store packaging and wrapping each serving in aluminum foil. Then place the foil packets inside a labeled and dated ziploc bag and store in the freezer.

Here's a way to avoid both freezer burn and refrigerator burn: lose the salmon. I know I bought a salmon fillet at Vons yesterday, and I know I brought it home and put it on the counter when I unloaded the grocery bags, along with a tri-tip roast. I left both items out so Craig could decide which he wanted to grill. He came home and grilled the salmon, which I had no hand in. I figured tonight we'd have the salmon. Lo and behold, we cannot find it anywhere in the fridge, the car, the bread drawer, the freezer. It is not to be seen. This is very crazy, and I'm afraid I had a menopause moment and put it somewhere highly unlikely.
Is this a side effect of a cluttered lifestyle?
